Does Haven have a cage-free egg policy?

We are fully committed to moving 100% of our eggs and egg ingredients to cage free by 2025. Our commitment is shared with Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and many other major UK food retailers.

Currently we use a range of shell eggs, all of which are sourced in the UK and all of which are certified to meet the British Lion code of practice. We choose to do this because we know these eggs are safe for our guests to consume. The British Lion code of practice is supported by The Food Standards Agency which recently announced that infants, pregnant women and the elderly can now safely eat raw or lightly cooked eggs that are produced under the British Lion code of practice.

This cage free commitment represents a significant change to egg sourcing in the UK and to meet this commitment we are working closely with our egg suppliers, to ensure the necessary changes can be progressively introduced throughout the UK egg supply chain.
