Helpful Hints & Tips
To see what activities are on and to pre-book before your holiday, please visit haven.com/experience 12 weeks before your arrival date. You can also book activities at the Activity Booking Point on park during your stay, subject to availability. If you want to book activities for your arrival day, please make sure bookings are made for after your arrival time or they may be cancelled. You can book your arrival day activities on haven.com/experience 7 days before your arrival date.
Activities are only available to our Holiday guests, Private Let guests who have purchased a Play Pass and our owners. Please bring your Play Pass or Privilege Card with you. We reserve the right to refuse access if you cannot show a valid pass or card.
Please see haven.com/experience 7 days before arrival for your allocated check-in time.
Arriving late: please let us know on haven.com/experience when you get your allocated arrival time. We will then know to expect you later.
Our amusement arcade is mainly cashless. You'll need to purchase a Playcard from the Playcard Kiosk or Prize Shop, top up the card and tap it on the card readers to play. Don’t forget to register your card in case you lose it! If you do lose your card, speak to a member of our friendly team in the kiosk or prize shop and they will cancel your card and will replace it with a new one with any remaining credit and awards. We have 2p and 10p coin pushers for coins and, on request, we can convert 20p, 50p and £1 coins to money on a card if you want to use other games within the arcade. Any credit and awards not used can be saved for your next visit to Wild Duck – no refunds will be given.
Get your sizzle on in safety. Please keep barbecues away from holiday homes, verandas and the external gas bottles. They must also be elevated and please use a non-disposable barbecue. Be sure that they’re completely put out before you leave them.
Bars and restaurants
We have two main venues for wining or dining: The Sitting Duck bar and restaurant, and the Live Lounge entertainment venue, home to our Entertainment Cast, the Seaside Squad, and live acts. You can pre-book a restaurant table at haven.com/experience, 12 weeks before your holiday or by visiting the restaurant once on park.
There’s a bus stop at the main entrance to the park. If you need any information on local bus routes, please see the Reception team.
Our grassy areas are important to us. Please avoid parking on them and use the dedicated space next to, or near your holiday accommodation. Please also be considerate of your neighbours too. We have Blue Badge spaces near the main complex for those who need them.
Our cash machine is outside The Sitting Duck and this is free to use. Cashback is available in our Mini Market and all bar areas (minimum spend applies).
Don’t go just yet! But if you have to, please remember check out is by 10am. Please leave your key in the key box outside of Reception. If you a Haven direct guest please leave your hire goods in the holiday home. If you are a Private Let guest, please return them to the Reception or Hire Shop. Hire good deposits will be refunded back onto the card used for the deposit, once the item has been returned.
Direct beach access
The park is four miles from Gorleston’s sandy beach. Just a 10-minute drive away.There is also a sandy beach in Great Yarmouth.
We’re fond of dogs on park and most breeds are welcome, just keep them on a lead at all times. Guide and service dogs are welcome inside our venues. Dogs are welcome on leads in our outdoor areas (excluding the outdoor pool) and we have woodland pathways on the park for lovely short walks. We have doggy bins around the park for cleaning up after your pet.
We’re strict about speed on park. Please stick to 10mph when you’re driving around.
Electric vehicle (EV) charging points
Unfortunately, we do not provide this service. St Nicholas Park, The Market Place (long stay car park) and Greyfriars Beach Coach Station are the closest places with electric vehicle charging facilities.
If you have an emergency, please call 999 and then our Reception and Security teams. This way we can direct them straight to you and come to your aid while you wait. If it’s not an emergency but you’d still like help, please call our Reception on 01493 780268 or our Security team on 07973 295426 as we have trained first-aiders on the park. Out-of-hours, please call our Security team.
Find out what’s on during your holiday four weeks before you arrive by downloading the My Haven app. There will be no table bookings in entertainment venues and tables will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Extend your stay
If you’d like to stay a little longer, come and see us at Reception and we can check availability and prices for you.
It’s always good to hear how we could have made your holiday even better. But if you have anything you’d like to tell us, pop into Reception for a chat.
While you’re busy making memories, you might want a little memento of your trip. We have holiday gifts, treats and essentials on sale at the Mini Market and the Wondershop.
For a small charge, we have to hire: bed guards, highchairs and travel cots subject to availability and a £10 deposit for each hire good item. We recommend you book in advance of arrival through your My Haven account, to avoid disappointment, but if you haven’t please pop to Reception and we’ll check availability for you. Please leave your hire goods in your accommodation on departure and your deposit will be refunded to the same card used to make the payment.
Holiday home ownership

Need an additional key for your holiday home? Pop into Reception and we’ll be happy to help – extra keys are subject to availability and require a deposit.
If you’ve had a big adventure, you might need a washing machine to clean you up again. Pop into our Reception where you can buy tokens for the launderette, as well as washing powder.
If you’ve mislaid a pair of swimming trunks, or Ted the bear has gone missing, pop into Reception and we’ll see if someone has handed them in for you. We keep all lost property for 14 days, so you have plenty of time to check.
We want your holiday to be tip-top. If you find any niggles when you arrive, please tell us straight away. Let us know if you don’t want a team member to come in if you’re not there, and please tell us if you have any dogs in your accommodation as we won’t be able to come in without you.
Our Mini Market is open every day, so you can pick up any essentials.
Please note, due to national on-going supply issues, there may be occasions where our supermarkets are running low on some items of stock and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause in advance.

Places of worship
Our Reception team can give you any information you need on local places of worship.
If you're on a Haven holiday break, Play Passes give you access to book activities, pools and entertainment venues, subject to availability. Play Passes are not included in Haven Hideaway breaks.
We know how important a postcard to Nan and Grandad is when you’re on holiday, so drop in any pre-stamped post to us at Reception and we’ll make sure it gets off for you.
If you’ve been lured by the bright lights of our amusement arcade, don’t forget to trade in your tickets at our prize shop before you leave.
No luck finding the TV remote? You can operate it from the set itself. We may even have another one at Reception so it’s worth asking just in case.
Special requirements and accessibility
If you have any questions or have special requests please contact our Call Centre prior to booking, where we have specially trained advisors who can help with every aspect of your booking. They can discuss the suitability of the park. If you have any questions while on the park, please ask the Reception team.
We know that swimming is one of our most popular activities, so we have done everything we can to ensure as many of our guests get a chance to swim as possible.
For indoor swimming, you can book slots before and during your stay. From four weeks before your break start date, you'll be able to pre-book up to 14 swim slots per holiday booking. You'll also be able to book more slots once you arrive on park, should capacity allow.
Each swim slot lasts for 60 minutes and can be booked on the My Haven Experience app or at haven.com/experience. We're able to hold swim slots for up to 15 minutes, however if you fail to show after this time, the swim slot will be cancelled and given to another guest.
If you can’t have a takeaway on holiday, when can you? We have a Cook’s Fish and Chips and Papa John’s® on park just waiting for you to enjoy. Please order your takeaway on haven.com/experience
Terrain of the park
The park is flat. All areas except Pine Grove are suitable for wheelchairs.
If you’re looking to explore the area, find a cracking local restaurant, or discover a nearby hidden gem, our Reception team can offer tips, advice and recommendations. We have loads of tourist leaflets at Reception too.
Own up, who forgot to pack the towels? It’s okay, we provide towels (1 hand and 1 bath towel per person) in our Silver, Gold and Signature grade accommodation or you can hire some from Reception for a small charge and deposit.
You will need to arrange any upgrade prior to receiving your arrival time. Please contact the park and they will be happy to discuss upgrade options with you.
To maximise the opportunity for guests to access the swimming pools, activities, entertainment venue and restaurants included in their holiday package, all holidaymakers visiting our parks must be included on a valid holiday booking. Unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity on our parks to allow our guests to bring visitors to our parks.
Due to the remoteness of our holiday parks the WiFi signal can vary. We do have guest WiFi available in The Sitting Duck bar and restaurant. There is no WiFi in accommodation. The My Haven app works on Wifi and 4G, however if you do not have any signal, you can always book your activities with our Activity and Leisure team at the Activity Booking Point.
