What improved connectivity can I expect in my holiday home?

Haven and Vodafone have worked to optimise coverage and performance for Owners. Performance will vary based on the device you are using, other users, weather conditions and your position on the park. You should expect performance of up to 1Gbps, typically 100-300mbps with a good quality 5G device with a Vodafone SIM card.

At peak times when lots of people are using the internet, this performance may reduce, but should not impact normal streaming, email and web access.

Certain locations within the park that are furthest away from the mast may only achieve a 4G signal, or 50-200mbps.

How do I get connected to enjoy the improved coverage?

If you are already a Vodafone customer, your phone will automatically connect to the new equipment. If you are not a Vodafone customer, you simply need to get yourself a mobile broadband hotspot/router and a Vodafone SIM card/plan. Click here for more information.

Will I pay more for calls & data accessed whilst on park?

No there will be no difference to how you use your mobile plan.

Can I connect to the Vodafone network if I am not a Vodafone customer?

To connect to the enhance network you’ll need a device or sim card that connects to the Vodafone Network. Find more information about switching networks here or contact Vodafone to switch to their network here.

We may extend enhanced connectivity to additional network providers in the future but initially, the enhancements will benefit Vodafone customers.

Can I install mobile broadband/Wi-Fi in my Holiday Home as a result of these enhancements?

Yes, you simply need to get yourself a mobile broadband hotspot/router and a Vodafone SIM card/plan. Click here for more information - Mobile Broadband | Tablets, Dongles & Mobile WiFi | Vodafone UK

How do I set up a hotspot on my phone?

Details for how to do this on an iPhone can be found here and Android here. Remember, you’ll need a Vodafone SIM card in your phone which you can buy directly from Vodafone here.

Each device connected to your hotspot consumes a portion of the available bandwidth. As more devices connect, the available bandwidth for each device decreases, potentially slowing down internet speeds for all connected devices. Battery powered hotspot devices (such as a phone) can become slower if they enter a power conservation mode.

Can I switch to Vodafone to enjoy these new benefits without changing my telephone number?

You can switch from your current provider to Vodafone to enjoy these new benefits without changing your mobile number. Find more information about switching networks here or contact Vodafone to switch to their network here.

How do I contact Vodafone?

Details for how to contact Vodafone can be found on their website here. There are no specific deals or packages for Haven Owners.

What should I do if a connected device cannot access the internet?

Ensure the device is properly connected to the hotspot and has a strong signal. Check if your mobile data is active and you have not exceeded your data plan. Restarting the connected device can also help resolve connectivity issues. For further guidance, you might want to refer to your device's user manual or contact the provider of your SIM card for specific questions related to your data plan and hotspot capabilities.

Will using my hotspot affect my data plan?

Yes, any data used by connected devices will count towards your mobile data plan. It's important to keep an eye on your usage to avoid extra charges if you have not purchased an unlimited data plan.

How many devices can connect to my hotspot at once?

The number of devices that can connect simultaneously varies by device and network. Typically, Android supports up to 10 connections, while iOS supports up to 5.

Can I set a data limit for my Wi-Fi hotspot?

Android: Yes, some Android devices allow you to set a data limit for your hotspot usage. This option can be found in the hotspot settings.

iOS: iOS does not provide a direct option to set a data limit for the hotspot. You would need to monitor your data usage manually through the cellular data settings

How do I set up high-speed Wi-Fi network in your holiday home?

The best way to create a Wi-Fi network in your holiday home is to get a “mobile broadband router”, which can be simply plugged into a power socket.

You will also need to buy Vodafone data (a SIM card) – you can choose from a variety of plans depending on how much you want to spend or how much data you think you will use. These Vodafone SIM cards are widely available, including at most newsagents and supermarkets.

Vodafone also sell a number of suitable “mobile broadband routers”, which also come with options to add data bundles.  You can find out more via this link: Vodafone broadband routers.
