Helpful Hints & Tips

Activities

To make planning your holiday as easy as possible, activity bookings will open 12 weeks from the start of your holiday, in line with restaurant bookings.

 

You’ll be able to make your bookings via the My Haven Experience app or at haven.com/experience and will be able to book both free and paid for activities.

 

Activity bookings can also be made once you arrive on park, however due to limited capacity, we’d always recommend booking in advance to ensure you get everything you’re after! 

Please note, whilst we have a lot of free activities for you to get stuck into, some of our activities do require a small additional charge to book.

 

Ants

During warm periods the appearance of ants is common. Advice from the Local Environmental Health Officer confirms that they do appear for no apparent reason and do not reflect any lack of hygiene.  They can only be attributed to a force of nature, but we apologise for any distress or inconvenience this situation may cause you. For safety reasons all holiday homes have vents, hence there will always be access points for such insects. To discourage their presence please do not leave food exposed, particularly in the kitchen. We do have ant spray on Park should you wish the team to apply this around the vents in your holiday home, please visit Reception

 

Arrival day activities 

If you want to book activities for your arrival day, this can be done seven days before your arrival date. Once within the seven days, you'll be able to book activities from 1pm. Please note, you’ll also be able to book activities for your first day via the Activity Booking Point on park once you’ve checked in (subject to availability). 

Activities are only available to our Holiday guests, Private Let guests who have purchased a Play Pass and our owners. Please bring your Play Pass or Owner Card with you. 

 

Arrival

Please see the My Haven Experience App or haven.com/experience 7 days before arrival for your allocated check-in time.

 

Arriving late: please let us know on the My Haven Experience app or haven.com/experience when you get your allocated arrival time. We will then know to expect you later.

 

Barbecues

Get your sizzle on in safety. Please keep barbecues away from holiday homes, verandas and the external gas bottles. They must also be elevated. Be sure that they’re completely put out before you leave them and dispose of them safely.

 

Bars and restaurants

We have three venues for food or drink: the Mash and Barrel and the Terrace Bar and Kitchen, within our main building, and South Beach Café, above the beach at the bottom of the park. Please see your park map for the route. If you just want a drink, we have our three venues: Bugsy’s and Capones, the Sports Bar and Box Bar.

 

You can pre-book a restaurant table on the My Haven Experience app or via haven.com/experience 12 weeks before your holiday or by visiting the restaurant once on park. There will be no table bookings in entertainment venues and tables will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Buses

The no. 95 goes from the park and along the beach front to Exmouth train station. There are three bus stops on the park: at South Beach Café, next to the Reception car park and near the entrance by Nutwell Glade accommodation area.

 

Car parking

Our grassy areas are important to us. Please avoid parking on them and use the dedicated space next to, or near your holiday accommodation. Please also be considerate of your neighbours too. We have Blue Badge spaces in the main complex for those who need them.

 

Cash machines

Our cash machines are outside the Mini Market, at the complex entrance, and to the left of the stairs in the complex and they’re all free to use.

 

Checking out

Don’t go just yet! But if you must, please remember to strip the beds and check out by 10am. You can drop your keys at the Security barrier or at Reception. There’s a letterbox at Reception for this. Please drop off any hired goods to the hire shop or Reception if it’s not open.

 

Child safety

We can’t give you eyes in the back of your head, but we can give you a brightly coloured wristband for little ones in case they wander off. Come and see us at Reception or the swimming pool and we’ll add your contact details to it.

 

Direct beach access

There is a sandy beach accessible direct from the park next to the South Beach Café. The RNLI have lifeguards on the beach during the summer. Due to the gradient, this access is not ideal for wheelchair users or the infirm. There is, however, a local sandy beach a short drive away in Exmouth Town suitable for wheelchair users.

 

Dogs

We’re fond of dogs on site and most breeds are welcome. Just always keep them on a lead and use the bins provided to clear up after your pet. They are very welcome on the Mash and Barrel, Sports Bar and South Beach Café terraces, but mustn’t go inside venues unless a guide or service dog. Our beach does not allow dogs from the 1 May through to the 30 September. Exmouth Beach is 5 minutes’ drive down the road, and they allow dogs year-round, and there is loads of parking too. We also have dog-friendly cliff walks and designated dog walking areas on park.

 

Driving

We’re strict about speed on site. Please stick to 10mph when you’re driving around.

 

Electric vehicle (EV) charging points

For a nominal charge, you can charge your electric vehicle at one of our communal EV charging points outside the launderette on park or 8 in the main carpark. added a further 8. Electric charging is not permitted from the caravan itself.

 

Emergencies

If you have an emergency, please call 999 and then our Reception and Security teams. This way we can direct them straight to you and come to your aid while you wait. If it’s not an emergency but you’d still like help, please call our Reception on 01395 226226 or our Security team on 07825 308896 as we have trained first-aiders on the park. Out-of-hours, please call our Security team.

 

Entertainment

To find out what’s on during your holiday, go to the My Haven Experience app or visit haven.com/experience. Available four weeks before you arrive. There will be no table bookings in entertainment venues and tables will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Extend your stay

If you’d like to stay a little longer, come and see us at Reception and we can check availability and prices for you.

 

Feedback

It’s always good to hear how we could have made your holiday even better. But if you have anything you’d like to tell us, pop into Reception for a chat or fill out our survey when you leave.

 

Gifts

While you’re busy making memories, you might want a little memento of your trip. We have holiday gifts, treats and essentials on sale at the Mini Market, Bay View gifts and fun shops

 

Hire goods

For a small charge, we have to hire: bed guards, highchairs, pushchairs, travel cots and irons, subject to availability and a £10 deposit for each hire good item. We recommend you book in advance of arrival through your My Account on haven.com, to avoid disappointment, but if you haven’t, please pop to out hire shop or Reception and we’ll check availability for you. Please return your hire goods to the hire shop or Reception if it’s closed on departure and your deposit will be refunded to the same card used to make the payment.

 

Holiday home ownership

Keys

Need an additional key for your holiday home? Pop into Reception and we’ll be happy to help – extra keys are subject to availability and require a deposit.

 

Launderette

If you’ve had a big adventure, you might need a washing machine to clean you up again. Pop into our Mini Market where you can buy tokens for the launderette, as well as washing powder.

 

Lost property

If you’ve mislaid a pair of swimming trunks, or Ted the Bear has gone missing, pop into Reception and we’ll see if someone has handed them in for you. We keep all lost property for 14 days, so you have plenty of time to check.

 

Maintenance

We want your holiday to be tip top. If you find any niggles when you arrive, please tell us straight away. Let us know if you don’t want a team member to come in if you’re not there, and please tell us if you have any dogs in your accommodation as we won’t be able to come in without you.

 

Mini Market

Our Mini Market is open every day, so you can pick up any essentials.

 

Park safety

We want you to feel safe and secure on park. So if there’s anything worrying you at night or you need our help out-of-hours, please call our Security team on 07825 308896.

 

Places of worship

Our Reception team can give you information about local places of worship.

 

Play Passes

If you're on a Haven Holiday break, Play Passes give you access to book activities (some are subject to a fee), pools, and entertainment venues, subject to availability. Play Passes are not included in Haven Hideaway breaks.

 

Post

We know how important a postcard to Nan and Grandad is when you’re on holiday, so drop in any pre-stamped post to us at Reception, and we’ll make sure it gets off for you.

 

Prize shop

If you’ve been lured by the bright lights of our amusement arcade, don’t forget to trade in your tickets at our prize shop before you leave.

 

Remote controls

No luck finding the TV remote? You can operate it from the set itself. We may even have another one at Reception so it’s worth asking just in case.

 

Seagulls

Please refrain from feeding the seagulls on Park, they are very greedy birds and enjoy having someone else’s discarded food, but it can do them harm and make them very aggressive.

 

Also, please remember to put your rubbish into the bins provided, if you leave it out, the seagulls will help themselves to whatever they want and leave behind a terrible mess for us to clear up.

 

Special requirements and accessibility

If you have any questions or have special requests please contact our Call Centre prior to booking, where we have specially trained advisors who can help with every aspect of your booking. They can discuss the suitability of the park - some areas of our park are more suitable for wheelchairs. If you have any questions while on the park, please ask the Reception team.

 

Swimming 

We know that swimming is one of our most popular activities, so we have done everything we can to ensure as many of our guests get a chance to swim as possible. 

For indoor swimming, you can book slots before and during your stay. From four weeks before your break start date, you'll be able to pre-book up to 14 swim slots per holiday booking. You'll also be able to book more slots once you arrive on park, should capacity allow. 

Each swim slot lasts for 60 minutes and can be booked on the My Haven Experience app or at haven.com/experience. We're able to hold swim slots for up to 15 minutes, however if you fail to show after this time, the swim slot will be cancelled and given to another guest. 

There's no booking required to use our outdoor pools which will be open from May half term until the end of August Bank Holiday. If the weather allows, simply turn up when you fancy an outdoor swim. 

 

Takeaway

If you can’t have a takeaway on holiday, when can you? We have a Burger King®, Cook’s Fish and Chips, Papa John’s®, Slim Chickens, Berties ice cream van and Millies Cookies on our park, just waiting for you to enjoy. Papa John’s® will also deliver directly to your accommodation if required. Whether you’re ordering for collection, delivery or to eat in, all takeaway orders can be made via My Haven Experience app or haven.com/experience

 

Terrain of the park

The park is very hilly with inclines to all areas. The main complex is in a gully meaning all accommodation is uphill from the complex.

Tourist information

If you’re looking to explore the area, find a cracking local restaurant, or discover a nearby hidden gem, our Reception team can offer tips, advice, and recommendations.

 

Towels

Own up, who forgot to pack the towels? It’s okay, we provide towel (1 bath towel per person) in our Lodge, Gold and Signature grade accommodation or you can hire a towel bale of 5 from Reception for a small charge and deposit.

 

Upgrades

You will need to arrange any upgrade prior to receiving your arrival time. Please contact the Reception team on park and they will be happy to discuss upgrade options with you.

 

Visitors

To maximise the opportunity for guests to access the swimming pools, activities, entertainment venue and restaurants included in their holiday package, all holidaymakers visiting our parks must be included on a valid holiday booking. Unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity on our parks to allow our guests to bring visitors to our parks.

 

WiFi

Due to the remoteness of our holiday parks the WiFi signal can vary. Unfortunately, we do not have WiFi in accommodation. We do, however, have guest WiFi available in the main complex. The My Haven Experience app works on Wifi and 4G, however if you do not have any signal, you can always book your activities with our Activity and Leisure team at the Activity Booking Point.
