Helpful Hints & Tips


Activities

To make planning your holiday as easy as possible, activity bookings will open 12 weeks from the start of your holiday, in line with restaurant bookings.

 

You’ll be able to make your bookings via the My Haven Experience app or at haven.com/experience and will be able to book both free and paid for activities.

 

Activity bookings can also be made once you arrive on park, however due to limited capacity, we’d always recommend booking in advance to ensure you get everything you’re after! 

Please note, whilst we have a lot of free activities for you to get stuck into, some of our activities do require a small additional charge to book.

 

Ants

During warm periods the appearance of ants is common. Advice from the Local Environmental Health Officer confirms that they do appear for no apparent reason and do not reflect any lack of hygiene.  They can only be attributed to a force of nature, but we apologise for any distress or inconvenience this situation may cause you. For safety reasons all holiday homes have vents, hence there will always be access points for such insects. To discourage their presence please do not leave food exposed, particularly in the kitchen. We do have ant spray on Park should you wish the team to apply this around the vents in your holiday home, please visit Reception

 

Arrival day activities 

If you want to book activities for your arrival day, this can be done seven days before your arrival date. Once within the seven days, you'll be able to book activities from 1pm. Please note, you’ll also be able to book activities for your first day via the Activity Booking Point on park once you’ve checked in (subject to availability). 

Activities are only available to our Holiday guests, Private Let guests who have purchased a Play Pass and our owners. Please bring your Play Pass or Owner Card with you. 

 

Arrival

Please see the My Haven Experience App or haven.com/experience 7 days before arrival for your allocated check-in time.

Arriving late: please let us know on the My Haven Experience app or haven.com/experience when you get your allocated arrival time. We will then know to expect you later.

 

Arcade

The bright lights and excitement of our arcade awaits for all guests to enjoy. Our machines take cash so pick out all the loose change from behind the sofa before coming! Don’t worry if you don’t have spare pennies, we have machines to change money for you, so you’ll soon be playing.

 

Barbecues

Get your sizzle on in safety. Please keep barbecues away from holiday homes, verandas and the external gas bottles. They must also be elevated. Be sure that they’re completely put out before you leave them.

 

Bars and restaurants

We have two venues for wining or dining: the Café Bar and the ShowBar entertainment venue – both venues are inside the main complex.

 

You can pre-book a restaurant table on the My Haven Experience app or via haven.com/experience 12 weeks before your holiday or by visiting the restaurant once on park. There will be no table bookings in entertainment venues and tables will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Beach access

Soak up the sea air at Bowleaze Cove, our nearest beach. It’s a 15–20-minute walk away and is a lovely mix of sand, shingle and pebbles. Blue Flag Weymouth Beach is just five minutes away by car.

 

Buses

The number 4 usually takes you into Weymouth town centre, and the nearest bus stop is outside the Spice Ship Pub. If you need any information on local bus routes, please see the Reception team.

 

Car parking

Our grassy areas are important to us. Please avoid parking on them and use the dedicated space next to, or near your holiday accommodation. Please also be considerate of your neighbours too. We have Blue Badge spaces in the main complex for those who need them.

 

Cash machines

Our cash machine is at Reception.

 

Checking out

Don’t go just yet! But if you must, please remember check out is by 10am. Please leave the key with the Park Safety team at the gatehouse. Please remember to leave any hire goods in your accommodation. Once our team have confirmed the collection and return of the hired goods, we will refund the deposit back onto the card that the payment was made from.

 

Child safety

We can’t give you eyes in the back of your head, but we can give you a brightly coloured wristband for little ones, in case they wander off. Come and see us at the indoor pool and we’ll add your contact details to it.

 

Dogs

When it comes to canine friends, dogs are welcome, but need to be always kept on a lead. Dogs cannot go inside venues or around the outdoor pool area, but they are welcome on the seating area in the front of the Sports Bar restaurant and on the nature reserve. We have bins around the park for cleaning up after your pet. Nearby Weymouth is great for taking your four-legged friend on coastal walks, and its beach has dog friendly areas too.

 

Driving

We’re strict about speed on park. Please stick to 10mph when you’re driving around.

 

Electric vehicle (EV) charging points 

Unfortunately, we do not provide this service. The closest charging point is our local supermarket Sainsburys about 2 miles away

 

Emergencies

If you have an emergency, please call 999 and then our Reception and Security teams. This way we can direct them straight to you and come to your aid while you wait. If it’s not an emergency but you’d still like help, please call our Reception on 01305 832271 or our Security team on 07795 030366 as we have trained first-aiders on the park. Out-of-hours, please call our Security team.

 

Entertainment

To find out what’s on during your holiday, go to the My Haven Experience app or visit haven.com/experience. Available four weeks before you arrive. There will be no table bookings in entertainment venues and tables will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Extend your stay

If you’d like to stay a little longer, come and see us at Reception and we can check availability and prices for you.

 

Feedback

It’s always good to hear how we could have made your holiday even better. But if you have anything you’d like to tell us, pop into Reception for a chat.

 

Gifts

While you’re busy making memories, you might want a little memento of your trip. We have holiday gifts, treats and essentials on sale at the Box of Tricks gift shop.

 

Hire goods

For a small charge, we have available to hire bed guards, highchairs, pushchairs and travel cots, subject to availability and a £10 deposit for each hire good item. We recommend you book in advance of arrival, through your My Account on haven.com to avoid disappointment, but if you haven’t, please pop to Reception and we’ll check availability for you. Please leave your hire goods in your accommodation on departure and your deposit will be refunded to the same card used to make the payment.

 

Holiday home ownership

Want to stay again and again with us? Pop into our Caravan Sales Reception, for information about owning your very own holiday home at our sister park Weymouth Bay.

 

Keys

Need an additional key for your holiday home? Pop into Reception and we’ll be happy to help – extra keys are subject to availability and require a deposit.

 

Lost property

If you’ve mislaid a pair of swimming trunks, or Ted the Bear has gone missing, pop into Reception and we’ll see if someone has handed them in for you. We keep all lost property for 14 days, so you have plenty of time to check.

 

Maintenance

We want your holiday to be tip-top. If you find any niggles when you arrive, please tell us straight away. Let us know if you don’t want a team member to come in if you’re not there, and please tell us if you have any dogs in your accommodation as we won’t be able to come in without you.

 

Mini Market

Our Mini Market is open every day, so you can pick up any essentials. 

 

Park safety

We want you to feel safe and secure on park. So, if there’s anything worrying you at night or you need our help out-of-hours, please call our Security team on 07795 030366.

 

Places of worship

Our Reception team can give you any information you need on local places of worship.

 

Play Passes

If you're on a Haven Holiday break, Play Passes give you access to book all the good stuff, like activities, swimming pools and entertainment venues. Play Passes are not included in Haven Hideaway breaks.

 

Post

We know how important a postcard to Nan and Grandad is when you’re on holiday, so drop in any pre-stamped post to us at Reception, and we’ll make sure it gets off for you.

 

Remote controls

No luck finding the TV remote? You can operate it from the set itself. We may even have another one at Reception so it’s worth asking just in case.

 

Special requirements and accessibility

If you have any questions or have special requests please contact our Call Centre prior to booking, where we have specially trained advisors who can help with every aspect of your booking. They can discuss the suitability of the park. If you have any questions while on the park, please ask the Reception team.

 

Swimming

We know that swimming is one of our most popular activities, so we have done everything we can to ensure as many of our guests get a chance to swim as possible. 

For indoor swimming, you can book slots before and during your stay. From four weeks before your break start date, you'll be able to pre-book up to 14 swim slots per holiday booking. You'll also be able to book more slots once you arrive on park, should capacity allow. 

Each swim slot lasts for 60 minutes and can be booked on the My Haven Experience app or at haven.com/experience. We're able to hold swim slots for up to 15 minutes, however if you fail to show after this time, the swim slot will be cancelled and given to another guest. 

There's no booking required to use our outdoor pools which will be open from May half term until the end of August Bank Holiday. If the weather allows, simply turn up when you fancy an outdoor swim. 

 

Takeaway

If you can’t have a takeaway on holiday, when can you? We have a Papa John’s® on our park, just waiting for you to enjoy. Papa John’s® will also deliver directly to your accommodation if required. Whether you’re ordering for collection, delivery or to eat in, all takeaway orders can be made via My Haven Experience app or haven.com/experience

 

Terrain of the park

The park is set on a hillside with areas that are mostly sloping. The Complex facilities and the surrounding area are wheelchair friendly. The park has a mix of grass, gravel and concrete paths.

 

Tourist information

If you’re looking to explore the area, find a cracking local restaurant, or discover a nearby hidden gem, our Reception team can offer tips, advice, and recommendations. We have loads of tourist leaflets at Reception too.

 

Towels

Own up, who forgot to pack the towels? It’s okay, we provide towels (1 hand and 1 bath towel per person) in our Gold and Signature grade accommodation or you can hire some from Reception for a small charge and deposit.

 

Trains

The nearest train station is Weymouth Railway Station. Please pop into Reception for more information or timetables.

 

Upgrades

You will need to arrange any upgrade prior to receiving your arrival time. Please contact the park and they will be happy to discuss upgrade options with you.

 

Visitors

To maximise the opportunity for guests to access the swimming pools, activities, entertainment venue and restaurants included in their holiday package, all holidaymakers visiting our parks must be included on a valid holiday booking. Unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity on our parks to allow our guests to bring visitors to our parks.

 

WiFi

Due to the remoteness of our holiday parks the WiFi signal can vary. We do have free guest WiFi available in our main complex. We do not have WiFi in our accommodation. The My Haven app works on Wifi and 4G, however if you do not have any signal, you can always book your activities with our Activity and Leisure team at the Activity Booking Point.
